It appears that almost every club website you go on claims to be "one of the oldest and largest" in there area. We are slightly different in that although we embrace our historic past we look to the needs of our current and future members. To this end we offer hockey at all levels and age groups and encourage you to find the level suitable to yourself. We currently have 4 men's teams, 3 ladies teams, and a colt's team who play in the district league and through our partnership with the local Grammar school run youth hockey from 12 years upwards. A RATHER VAGUE ATTEMPT AT OUR HISTORY. Grammar FP hockey section was started back in 1911 by our founding fathers to give Gentlemen the opportunity to continue playing after they had left the school. Initally only Former pupils of the school were eligible to play, however this has changed at some point and we accept anyone and everyone. During the Socialist days of the 1970's it was decided that burds were now allowed an education at the school and 700 hundred years tradition of teaching boy's was swept away. It wasn't long before these ladies also decided that they wanted to continue playing hockey after they left school. To enable this they set up the rather snappily titled Aberdeen Grammar School Former Pupils Female Hockey Section and have not looked back since. Scottish District Cup final We also have a thriving under 18's section, which includes under 14's, 16's 18's teams. In 2007 the under 16's team were succesfull at national level & won the Scottish Reserve Cup. Boys Grammar Team - Cup Winners 2006/2007 Honorary Vice Presidents. I. W. D.
